Addy

Addy / F / 10Y / 26lbs / Beagle mix / Fostered in Owen Sound

Addy is the sweetest older gal you'll meet. She loves a good nap, food (she's the first to let you know it's feeding time), bum scratches, sorting the recycling and being part of the family and join in whatever is  going on.  She's true to her hound roots and will sneak the other dog's chews and hide them around the house when they're out. When asked what her favourite thing about Addy is, her foster said "Where to start....she is so sweet; a very easy dog to look after, quiet in the home but rewarding to interact with.  She lets the kids 'tuck' her into bed (cover her entirely in blankets). "

Addy is house trained but if you miss her cues, she will potty in the house. She is trusted free roaming when home alone. She is a very slow walker who moves at her own pace and can be stubborn when she wants to investigate something, be prepared for lots of stops and a leisurely pace. She is currently getting 3 to 4 15 minute slow paced walks a day. Addy is very arthritic and requires gentle handing. She is receiving Meloxicam daily as well as librela injections. She is also receiving apoquel for her itchy skin. She did recently have a dental and had a few teeth removed.

Addy is polite when meeting new people. She will happily go up and say hello and see what is going on but does not require attention from guests. She is good with other dogs, cats and respectful children. Her ideal home has minimal stairs and someone who is home often. If there is another dog in the home, they would need to be lower energy or respect her space and not try to play rough with her. She is looking for a retirement home to spend her remaining years getting lots of love and snacks.
