Banjo

Banjo / M / 11Y / 22lbs / Havanese / Fostered in Owen Sound

Banjo is a relaxed, laid back, well behaved little guy. He's a true couch potato and loves to lounge around. He is a picky eater but does enjoy his liver treats. His least favourite thing is taking meds....his foster mom always needs to hide it in food and sometimes he'll even eat the food but spit out the pill. He is getting apoquel daily for his itchy skin, and this may be something he needs to stay on long term (approximately $160/month). He had bladder stones when he arrived in our care but has had surgery to remove them. He will need to remain on a urinary tract support diet to help prevent reoccurrence. He also has chronic dry eye and is on drops daily that he may need to stay on long term (approximately $120/month).

Banjo is working on his house training but does well as long as he gets outside every 3-4 hours (he sleeps through the night and snores). He is crate trained and walks well on leash. He isn't a huge fan of walks and is currently receiving a few short walks down the street daily. He is low energy but gets bursts of excitement and jumps around! He's show no signs of separation anxiety or guarding behaviours. He is fairly independent but he does love to follow his person around.

Banjo is good when meeting new people. He is great with kids, other dogs and cats. He would do well in a house or apartment. His ideal family is home often to ensure he gets frequent trips outside. He is a very adaptable guy.

If you are interested in adopting Banjo, please complete an adoption application on our website. His adoption fee is $500
