Peep
Peep / F / 14Y / 6lbs / Chihuahua mix / Fostered in Toronto
Peep is a sweet senior girl who's looking for a quiet home and a comfy bed to spend her remaining time in. We don't know how much time she has left, but she wants to make every day with her person special! She is described by her foster as independent, gentle, quiet and calm. She isn't much of a lap dog and loves to sleep the day away in her bed with a blanket, but wants to be in the same room as per person. She likes chin scratches, her favourite treat, giving little kisses and being cozy! She is not a fan of cold weather but is very tolerant of her foster mom dressing her up in outfits to keep warm! Her foster mom says "When she comes in from her pee breaks or thinks there are treats to be given out, she prances around with excitement. It's sooo cute!"
Peep is doing well with house training and has very few accidents now. She will use pee pads in the house. She does well on leash but only prefers short walks and only in warm weather. She prefers to be carried around. She does well when left alone and has not shown any guarding behaviours. She is very low energy and enjoys frequent naps. She did have a dental while in our care, as her teeth were very infected. She has an advanced heart murmur and enlarged heart but does not show any signs of heart failure. She is receiving Pimobendin twice a day to help support her heart. She has also lost her hearing.
Peep is friendly when meeting new people and enjoys getting pets and love. She is good with other calm dogs, cats and respectful kids. Her ideal home is a calm, quiet home where someone is home often. She would do well in a house or apartment. If you are interested in providing Peep her retirement home, please complete an adoption application on our website.
